Privacy Policy
Rehearse: AI Confidence Coach ("Rehearse", "we") helps you privately practice real-life conversations with AI. This policy explains what information we handle and why. The short version: your practice data belongs to you, we don't sell it, and voice audio is processed only to power the conversation you asked for.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and authentication credentials (managed by Firebase Authentication, or Google Sign-In if you use it).
- Profile answers: the situations, challenges, and goals you select during onboarding, used to generate your personalized practice plan.
- Practice data: generated scenarios, session history and statistics, confidence check-ins, and real-life challenge progress.
- Voice audio and conversation text: when you speak during a practice session, your audio is transcribed and the conversation text is processed by AI providers to generate responses. Audio is processed transiently for transcription and is not retained as a stored recording.
- Documents you upload: if you use document practice, the text extracted from your PDF is processed to build the session.
- Purchase information: subscription status is handled by the App Store or Google Play together with RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details.
How we use it
- To run practice sessions (transcription, AI conversation, speech synthesis).
- To personalize your practice plan and track your progress.
- To manage your subscription and free-session allowance.
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to advertise to you.
Third-party AI processing
Practice sessions are powered by third-party AI services. Before your first session, the app shows you this disclosure and asks for your permission. Here is exactly what is sent, and to whom:
- OpenAI receives your voice audio during a session so it can be transcribed into text (speech-to-text). Audio is processed transiently and is not retained by us as a stored recording. OpenAI may also generate the spoken voice of your practice partner as a fallback text-to-speech provider.
- Anthropic receives the text of your practice conversation (your transcribed words, the scenario description, and your selected goals) so it can generate your AI practice partner's replies. If you use custom scenario generation, Anthropic also receives the situation you describe and your practice profile (for example your comfort areas and goals) so it can build the scenario. If you practice from an uploaded document, Anthropic receives the document's text as session context.
- Fish Audio receives the AI partner's reply text so it can be converted into the spoken voice you hear (text-to-speech). It does not receive your own voice audio.
Documents you upload for practice are parsed (text-extracted) on our own server; the file itself is not sent to any AI provider, and only the extracted text is shared with Anthropic as described above.
All requests to these providers are routed through our secure server proxy, and each provider receives only the data needed to perform its function. OpenAI and Anthropic do not use data submitted through their APIs to train their models. All three providers process your data solely to deliver the requested service and are bound by their API terms to protect it with safeguards consistent with this policy. Your practice data is never sold and never used for advertising.
Other service providers
We also rely on: Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting), Google Cloud Run (our secure API proxy), and the App Store or Google Play together with RevenueCat (subscriptions). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.
Retention and deletion
Your practice data is retained while your account is active so your progress is preserved. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing lnguyen503@gmail.com; we will complete deletion within 30 days.
Not a medical service
Rehearse is a practice tool, not a mental health treatment, and your conversations are not reviewed by clinicians. If you are experiencing clinical anxiety, depression, or another mental health condition, please consult a licensed professional.
Children
Rehearse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and note the new effective date above.
